WE ARE CAMP CEDARBROOK TEXAS
Huntsville, Texas
Camp Cedarbrook Texas is a Christ-centered, Bible-based, outdoor program near Huntsville, Texas providing a camping experience for kids that are entering 2nd grade through entering 12th grade.
Our camping program is designed to encourage each camper to develop a personal relationship with God and to learn to study God’s Word and apply Biblical principles to daily life.
We also strive to help our campers:
All my daughter has talked about since she left camp last summer is going back. She has developed a pen pal relationship with some of her cabin mates. We are very excited about her coming back.
I just wanted to share our experience with Camp Cedarbrook. We registered and dropped off our 15 yr old daughter. When we picked her up she told us how awesome everything was. She absolutely loved the counselors and the other campers. She is already begging to go back next year!
Hi, I am Brian Hughes, aka CAW … I have been on camp staff at Lone Star (TX) Camp Cedarbrook for 10+ years, and on camp staff at Saguaro (AZ) Camp Cedarbrook for 3+ years. With all of my BC (before Cedarbrook) experience with Christian Service Brigade and Child Evangelism Fellowship’s Camp Good News, I’m not sure if I have had 20 years of camp ministry experience, or 1 year of experience 20 times. One thing that I do know … Since I became associated with Camp Cedarbrook I have grown in my own walk as a Christ-follower, in my perspective as a mentor to young men, and in my philosophy for camp ministry as Cedarbrook has taken root in my heart.
About 20 years ago we sent our daughter Joy to Piney Woods Camp, which was, at the time, in East Texas. The camp was highly recommended by our pastor’s wife, Linda Heidler. Joy had a fantastic time doing crafts, water activities, and she also received soul-reaching teaching on living for Christ.
Joy continued to attend each year all through her high school years, as did Jacob and Jenny. Our family grew to love the volunteer counselors, each one with a bird name. We appreciated that there was a week just for boys, and a week just for girls. Our kids had such a blast rope climbing, kayaking, riding horses, and learning archery and riflery.
Lone Star Camp is now located south of Waco, and the name has changed to Camp Cedarbrook Texas. Our three girls still at home will attend this year again. We know that when we pick them up, the counselors will tell us how they did. They will relate to us not only physical and social events, but especially the spiritual hurdles that our girls faced.
We recommend this camp!
